Kokopelli Trails

Located a few miles west of Fruita, the Kokopelli Trails are some of my favorite in the world. There is plenty of variety and challenge to the riding in this area. For trail specifics, refer to the trail guide available at Over the Edge Sports.

In May of 2005, Jason and I rode all the trails on the Kokopelli side in one day. It was one of the tougher rides I've done, but it definitely made for a good GPS plot. :D We started with Rustler's loop as a warm up. We then hit Moore Fun, followed by Mack Ridge. At the west end of mack ridge, we turned north and went down Lions loop. At the bottom of Lions, we got onto Troybuilt and rode it bottom to top. A right turn on Lions wiggles us back over to the top of Handcuffs. From handcuffs we looped around and climbed to Mary's. This is when we ran out of water. We rode Horse Thief Bench anyways, then finished out on Mary's and the dirt road back over to the parking lot. That is the ride that resulted in the maps you see below.
