Prime cut is your warm-up on the 18 road. It is a little over 2 miles of gradual climbing that gets your legs ready for Chutes and Ladders, Joe's Ridge or Zippedy Doo Dah. Don't get me wrong, it is a very fun trail. There are plenty of swoops, rises and berms to keep you interested while you're warming up. There's even a challenging little rock to scramble up about 2/3 of the way up. People don't go to the 18 road to ride Prime Cut. They ride Prime Cut to get to the things that they really came there to ride. Be careful if you ride it in the down direction. It is really easy to want to let loose and fly down it. There's always someone on the way up who isn't necessarily expecting you to come flying around the corner.
